I should have known that the 10-year-old who braved the door to door mail order card and wrapping paper sales gig – and sold homemade Kool-aid slushies curbside to the neighbors and the mailman – would end up an entrepreneur. 

I mean, those slushies were pretty much amazing at .75 a cup and required setting a timer to stir the pitcher in the freezer for the perfect consistency.

Then, once upon a time I was grown, and married, 8 months pregnant with my third babe and business was the last thing on my mind. 

I waddled into our small town Chamber of Commerce to hear a talk about caring for your family’s wellness naturally.

“Have something in my arsenal to keep kids healthy – and potentially not have to load 3 toddlers up to go to the doctor? Yes please!”

I was intrigued and bought a little starter kit from this company I’d never heard of before: Young Living Essential Oils. 

Little did I know, with that $160 investment, life was about to change dramatically!

And not just with our wellness routine and oils that smelled amazing.

What I didn’t realize then, was that those little bottles of oil and that $160 investment was also a passport to the entrepreneurial dreams of a lifetime.

I got excited about helping other mammas support their little ones’ wellness naturally.

Turns out I was getting paid for my word of mouth marketing and these oils were part of a compensation plan that began to blow my mind.

At first I bought shoes and curtains for my house with my unexpected and delightful paycheck.

And more oils, of course.

And Ningxia Red.

Then, I got super serious about sharing these products and helping others do the same. #thankyoucourtneycritz

I quit my photography and graphics design side businesses.

Then my husband quit his job.

Then we moved back home to Texas.

Our team grew.

I grew as a person.

Six years, and seven figures later, we’re still supporting our family’s wellness naturally with Young Living and have now seen over 100,000 other families in our group blessed by these products, too.

I love my “job” as a business builder who gets to work with amazing women from across the globe to bring wellness, purpose and abundance to others.

But all of this growth didn’t happen by accident.

It has come with hundreds of intentional hours spent after kids were in bed or before kids were up; by forgoing Netflix and redeeming countless 5 minute chunks throughout the day.

It has come with creatively making room in my schedule to make this a priority.

It has come with saying “no” to some good things and saying “yes” to other things that would serve me better.

It has required a ton of personal growth, stretching, and getting out of my comfort zone.

But you know all that.

Because that’s your story, too.
